Old School Runescape player catches 1 million of the same sub-par fish over at least 2,500 hours to achieve inner peace, or something-

Human beings are so freaking weird, in the best possible way—particularly when it comes to games like Old School Runescape. We’re capable of finding tasks that seem both impossible and pointless, then seeing them through because, as monkfish maniac AvengedKalas says, “it wasn’t a matter of if but a matter of when.”

Done with the hard part of my goal. Cooking starts now. from r/2007scape

As spotted by GamesRadar, AvengedKalas has collected 1 million monkfish, a task they began at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic circa 2020. They estimate this took somewhere between 2,500 and 4,500 hours—which is proof that time has absolutely zero bearing on their behaviour, considering the discrepancy. 2,000 hours is a mere drop in the o…

Adam Jensen’s voice actor says he’s not working on a new Deus Ex-

Actor Elias Toufexis has been busy in recent years, showing up as space spy Kenzo in The Expanse, delightful rubber forehead alien L’ak in Star Trek: Discovery, and The Penguin in Gotham Knights, among other roles. According to the actor though, he hasn’t heard anything about reprising the role most gamers know him for: Deus Ex prequel series protagonist Adam Jensen.

“Yeah, as happy as I am to be busy, I wish I was even more busy on a new Deus Ex” Toufexis wrote on Twitter. “I am not under any NDA for Deus Ex because no one has called me about it. Truly.”

As PC Gamer news lead Andy Chalk put it, “This one hurts.” Like Jay Anthony Franke as JC Denton in the original game, Toufexis did an amazing job squeezing warmth and humor out of a be-trench coated, sunglasses at night-wea…

Corsair’s next PSUs could throw out age-old ideas of where connectors should go-

Images of alleged upcoming Corsair PSUs have me scratching my head today. All the parts of a conventional PSU are present on the new ‘Shift’ lineup—fan, connectors, power switch—but they’re all topsy-turvy.

The bulk of the connectors on a regular PSU are located on the opposite facing side to the power switch and external power connector. However, on the so-called Shift models, they’re instead on the side. From the information we have on these unreleased PSUs, this repositioning is intended to make these connections easier to access.

The pictures of the PSU were posted by leaker momomo_us on Twitter, so not yet confirmed by Corsair. They look legitimate enough, but we’ll have to wait on official confirmation to be sure. Three capacities are noted with SKUs: 1200W…

President Biden says he’ll hand $6.6 billion to world’s largest chipmaker to stick around and expand in Arizona-

President Biden has signed a preliminary deal with TSMC, the world’s largest chip manufacturer, to hand the Taiwanese company billions of dollars of CHIPS funding. In return, TSMC will commit to building high-performance computer chips on US soil, including a brand new third fab facility expected to use the latest lithographic technologies for the most performant processors.

“TSMC’s renewed commitment to the United States, and its investment in Arizona represent a broader story for semiconductor manufacturing that’s made in America and with the strong support of America’s leading technology firms to build the products we rely on every day,” President Biden says.

“… semiconductor manufacturing and jobs are making a comeback.”

TSMC is largely based in…

The Hollow Knight- Silksong delirium reaches its pitchfork stage as former playtester saying the game isn’t ‘in dev hell’ gets eviscerated for it-

The Silksong community is, as you’d imagine, a little fraught right now—without a peep of news from the Summer Game Fest or Nintendo Direct, nor a public statement from increasingly enigmatic developer Team Cherry, it has an appetite for information I can only describe as starved, a result of 700 plus days of silence.

Things have continued to spiral after some offhand comments from a former playtester who goes by the name of Your Mate Graig on the Hollow Knight Discord (thanks, GamesRadar). While he claims to have been the lead tester for Silksong (a statement that has gone unchallenged by Team Cherry for months), he left the studio to work on his own game, Roc’s Odyssey, some time ago.

Graig stated Tuesday, June 18 that he “literally know[s] they are not in dev hell”&…

Strange Diablo 4 glitch has players unplugging their internet to create a portal between realms-

Diablo 4 characters who started on the Eternal Realm when it launched aren’t supposed to be able to travel to the new, Seasonal Realm. But a newly discovered glitch that involves unplugging your internet has shattered the barrier between the two.

Seasonal characters in Diablo 4 carry over some of your progress from your Eternal Realm characters, but start at level 1 with no items or gold. Seasons are meant to be an opportunity to basically restart the trek to level 100 with the aid of a unique mechanic—in this case, it’s the powerful Malignant Heart gems.

Apparently, the two realms aren’t as separated—at least on a technical level—as Blizzard made it seem. Players have figured out that if you group up with a friend on the Seasonal Realm and then briefly dis…

Red Dead Online players get a trick but no treat, with the same DLC pass returning for the third Halloween in a row-

The relaunch of Red Dead Online as a standalone title in late 2020 was something of a false dawn for its ever-optimistic community. Rockstar maintains the title but has been in a cycle for several years of repeating content, and it could fairly be said that this playerbase has been surviving on rations ever since 2020. This led to one of the best in-game protests I’ve ever seen, where a ton of RDO players gathered together in summer 2020 dressed up as clowns to protest the lack of substantial updates.

Well, dust off those red noses and fetch the greasepaint: Rockstar has announced RDO will be receiving Halloween-themed content for the holiday period, called Halloween Pass 2, which was originally released for Halloween in 2021, and then repeated in 2022. It’s fairly t…

Cyberpunk 2077 devs announce that they’ll announce something about Phantom Liberty in June-

Back when it was first revealed, the hope was that Cyberpunk 2077 would revolutionize the genre, and maybe even gaming as a whole. That’s not quite what happened, in part because the launch had more bugs than Starship Troopers. Performance issues, cars running into stuff, getting softlocked in the tutorial, weird children. It was a mess.

Thankfully, the redemption arc for Cyberpunk is real. With multitudes of bug fixes, content updates, and the transformative patch 1.6 behind us, as well as the massive success of the Cyberpunk anime, it seems as though things are finally getting in order for the game. So it’s with a certain amount of tentative excitement I look toward CD Projekt’s only planned DLC, Phantom Liberty.

We haven’t heard much since a pretty sick trailer at the Gam…

Blizzard ‘remixed’ one of the best WoW expansions with new items and boosted XP and it starts next month-

Blizzard is leveraging pure nostalgia with WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, a limited-time opportunity to rewind time and play through a modernized version of the 2011 expansion. When it goes live on May 16, you’ll be able to quickly level up a character who will transfer over to the regular servers when it’s over, presumably as a fun way to prepare for The War Within expansion later this year.

WoW expansions are already playable as you level up in WoW, but WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria will take place on separate servers and feature faster leveling, new items, and rewards to take back to the regular MMO. Think of it like an accelerated tour through one of WoW’s best expansions, an alternative to the normal leveling experience.

Anyone can play up to level 20 without a WoW subscr…

Ultra-hardcore survival shooter Road To Vostok’s getting a big new public build-

If the recent rash of survival games failing to make good on their ambitious promises has left you disillusioned, then I’ve good news: Road to Vostok is getting a substantial demo in fall 2023. You’ll be able to see for yourself exactly how the genre’s hardcore entry is coming along.

In Road to Vostok, you travel toward the titular region, crossing borders into areas populated with hostile NPCs. The more dangerous the location, the more valuable the loot you’ll find. Make it across the next border crossing, and you can trade your haul with shopkeepers for better gear or medical treatment.

The super realistic survival game involves an impressively deep weapon behavior modeling layer that simulates recoil, arm stamina, breath control, low and high ready positions, …

Venba’s gorgeous meals stir up the joy and challenge of recreating family recipes-

Watch On

Telling an authentic story is at the heart of Venba, which focuses on the mother of a family of Indian immigrants to Canada in the ’80s. With a new trailer at the Wholesome Games Showcase, the team at Visai Games dropped the release date for its debut narrative: July 31.

Told looking through the lens of the meals her family makes together, Venba promises that you’ll cook “authentic food from regional South Indian cuisine” and from the lovely stylized art, the recipes already look ready to eat. Venba’s cookbook was damaged in the move to Canada, so you’ll have to puzzle out the mangled recipes and missing ingredients to answer the eternal question: “What’s for dinner?” Every part of Venba looks like a heartfelt love letter to south Indi…

First Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay sure looks like Dragon’s Dogma-

Dragon’s Dogma is arisen.

The cult favorite action RPG got a formal sequel announcement last June, and at last we’ve seen it. Capcom brought a substantial trailer to Wednesday’s PlayStation Showcase, and my first reaction to Dragon’s Dogma 2 is—yep, that sure is Dragon’s Dogma 2.

The art style, the color palette, even the tone of the dialogue (and frequent mentions of “the Arisen”) feel like an extension of the first game. I also spotted a few familiar enemies, like a hulking cyclops, a griffon, and, of course, a dragon. It’s a comfy way to introduce the sequel.

The level of detail, particularly in the animations, makes it obvious this game is coming along a decade later, though.

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer doesn’t include even a hint of a release da…

Well that didn’t take long- Diablo 4 is coming to Steam-

Boy, that sure didn’t take long. Blizzard announced today that Diablo 4, the latest iteration of its demon-clobbering action-RPG, will be coming to Steam on October 17, and is available for wishlisting now.

Diablo 4 on Steam will support cross-platform play with other versions of the game—Battle.net, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5—and will offer unique Steam-specific features including Steam achievements and integration with the Steam friends list. It will also be playable on the Steam Deck.

The launch of Diablo 4 on Steam will coincide with the start of the Season of Blood, the game’s second season and Blizzard’s hoped-for bounceback from the mess of season one. The Season of the Malignant, as it’s known, did not go over well with fa…

You can’t take it with you, but you can’t leave it for someone else either- Valve says you aren’t allowed to bequeath a Steam account in a will-

First reported by Ars Technica, ResetEra user delete12345 has made an interesting discovery about Steam libraries: we’re not allowed to bequeath them to our loved ones in the event of our untimely passing.

Delete12345 asked Steam Support about the hypothetical scenario, and got a clear, professional, but very disappointing response. “Unfortunately, Steam accounts and games are non-transferable,” the support rep explained. “Steam Support can’t provide someone else with access to the account or merge its access to another account.

“I regret to inform you that your Steam account cannot be transferred via a will.”

Now, I was going to suggest that you can just give your designated heir the Steam login and password without getting lawyers involved—barri…
